The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa is located in Avon on a 19-acre site that provides instant access to Beaver Creek Mountain and adjacent to the Eagle River.  Avon offers shopping and dining that will appeals to a wide variety of tastes.  In addition to world-class skiing and snowboarding outside the back door, winter activities include snowshoeing, ice skating, snowmobiling, and sleigh rides.

Avon is central to Vail, Beaver Creek, and Edwards. Vail is known for being the largest ski area in North America and its wonderful Swiss Village-style dining and shops. A gondola ride away is Beaver Creek, known for world-class skiing, fine dining, exquisite shopping, an outdoor ice skating rink, and memorable cultural events at the Vilar Center. Edwards is a charming town with family-friendly restaurants and boutique shopping that will appeal to all. These four towns create a diverse and memorable experience. Beaver Creek Ice Skating  The ice skating rink in Beaver Creek Village is open from 10am-9pm daily.  Ice skating is $14/adult and $8/child including the skate rental.

We believe the nordic lift ticket will be priced around $24-$26/person.

Join Val & Daina and your colleagues on Sunday, January 10, 2009, 7:00 pm for an enjoyable dining experience in Avon.  Follow us in the short walk to Vin 48 (www.vin48.com)

Vail Valley local, Executive Chef Charles Hays, offers an ever-changing rustic American menu to satisfy discriminating palates with small and large plates.  They proudly serve local organic produce from the vin48 gardens at Mountain Thyme Farms in Gypsum, Colorado.

Chef Hays’ food is complemented by an eclectic, carefully chosen wine list. An Enomatic preservation system allows presentation of over 40 wines by the glass and half glass. Vin48 also serves hand-crafted cocktails and beer from a full bar.

If you reserve early, we will share a tasty 4-course evening beginning with antipasti of the chef's selection, a green salad, and a choice of chicken / salmon / beef followed by a choice of dessert. Please make your own reservation before December 31 with Vin48 at 970-748-WINE(9463) specifying you are with the Colorado Pharmacists group and would like to be part of the fixed menu. (Sample menu follows at the end of this email.)  You will be responsible for payment at the restaurant with the 4-courses priced around $70 per person (incl. tax, gratuity - excluding wine, beverages).

If you make your reservation BEYOND our initial group limit (between approx 20-30), you will be informed the fixed price menu group is filled.  Feel free to make your independent reservations at a later time (7:15, 7:30, 7:45 etc.)  order off the Vin48 menu and visit with everyone anyway!
